The Relationship Between the Church and Theology in Korea

     This study will attempt to discover the background of the formation of Korean Christianity, which is a significant source to understand the background of the religious trial in the Korean Church. In this perspective, this study will analyse Korean church history from within the context of indigenous Korean Christianity with a view to exploration of the indigenised Korean believing community as a whole. This study will analyse and criticise the religious trial of 1992 where two theologians were accused of religious pluralism and post-modern theology subsequent to attempting to establish an indigenous theology in Korea. In this thesis, I will focus on an examination of the causes of the religious trial of 1992.
